Les médias brésiliens ont qualifié les objectifs d’« audacieux », le porte-parole de Greenpeace, d’« irréalistes ». Dimanche 27 septembre, à la tribune de l’Organisation des Nations unies (ONU), à New York, la présidente brésilienne, Dilma Rousseff, a annoncé la contribution de son pays pour contenir le réchauffement de la planète.
